The buyer researched for three weeks before clicking
Nobody impulse-buys a €900 television. A MediaMarktSaturn buyer has usually read comparisons, watched a video, checked two other retailers and arrived at the listing already knowing the spec. What they cannot check from the spec sheet is whether the seller ships it properly, whether it arrives undamaged, and whether it does in practice what the box claims.
That is what the review count under your listing is for. In a category where the product itself is identical across every seller carrying it, reviews are close to the only variable you control.
Electronics reviews arrive late, and that is fine
Here is the timing trap. In most categories the advice is to ask a few days after delivery. In electronics that is too early, and asking early actively costs you.
A buyer who has owned a monitor for two days can tell you the box was intact. A buyer who has owned it for two weeks can tell you the panel has no dead pixels, the stand is solid, and the HDMI ports work — which is the review that sells the next unit. Ask too soon and you convert a potentially excellent review into a shallow one.
High-ticket electronics also carry a longer tail of buyer's remorse. A request that lands while someone is still deciding whether to return the thing is a request for a review of their own indecision.
Fewer orders means each review is worth more
Electronics sellers move far fewer units than a fashion or grocery seller for the same revenue. That cuts both ways: there are fewer chances to collect a review, and each one that lands moves the listing further. A fashion listing going from 200 to 220 reviews is invisible. An electronics listing going from 8 to 28 is a different listing.
This is why leaving collection to chance hurts most in this category. At low order volume, the roughly one-in-a-hundred unprompted rate can mean literally no reviews for months.
What Merita does
We read the delivery confirmation from your MediaMarktSaturn orders, wait long enough for the buyer to have actually used the product, and send one message through the marketplace's own buyer messaging asking for an honest review. Nothing is offered in return. Orders with an open return, a refund or a complaint never receive one.
